Weeds everywhere. It is rightly the perfect climate for weeds. Climbing dock. Euphorbia. Banana passionfruit. Jasmine. Gorse. Old Man’s Beard. Nodding thistle. Scotch thistle. Californian thistle. Hemlock. Deadly nightshade. Woolly nightshade. Wandering Jew. Fennel. Paspallum. Puha. Twitch. Morning Glory..

Like musicians, weeds have better names than ordinary plants.

And like criminals, weeds have a ready charm, are amazingly resourceful and tough, and have an endearing desire to emulate respected garden citizens.
